Sales Engineer

Our team is looking for passionate professionals to join our sales team as a Sales Engineer. This position is full time remote with a preference for candidates based in North Italy (ideally in Milan) and separately in North America.

You will be responsible for selling into new prospects as well as farming back into existing customers to ensure high renewal and customer satisfaction levels. Measures of success include new customer acquisition rates, renewal rates, up-selling, cross-selling, customer satisfaction and contribution to overall sales team and business success.

Job Description

The Sales Engineer partners with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles; models the financial business case associated with each sales opportunity; successfully matches customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions; creates and delivers powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition; manages the delivery of proof of concepts.

The ideal candidate is well versed in the cloud native application stack and familiar with front and back end technologies including Java, React/Angular, web architectures, UX design principles and practices, database technologies, cloud environments, containers, microservices, agile and DevOps methodologies as well as continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.

The candidate should have strong people skills including the ability to communicate with both business and technical teams. The selected candidate will be expected to define, develop, and deliver technical demonstrations of applications based on the Entando platform as part of pre-sales activities with the Sales group.

Level of expertise

A significant amount of experience in a solution architect or senior developer role.

At least 2 years of experience in technical pre-sales role

Requirements

  • 3+ years development experience designing, developing and maintaining web applications
  • 2+ years experience in a technical pre-sales role
  • Proven knowledge of the sales cycle
  • Proven track record selling complex enterprise solutions
  • Proven knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives
  • Excellent presentation and creativity skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering or comparable work experience
  • Experience leading brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for business needs or problems
  • Ability to identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities in existing systems
  • Fluent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Knowledge of at least 1 Cloud environment among the top Cloud Providers
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes
  • Working knowledge of Linux
  • Familiarity frontend technologies including JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, React and/or Angular
  • Knowledge of backend technologies such as Spring, SpringBoot, Quarkus.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment concepts
  • Understanding of Micro Frontend Architecture Style
  • Understanding of Microservice Architecture Style
  • Willingness to travel

We’ll be especially impressed if you have:

  • Experience working directly with clients in a services/consulting capacity
  • Experience with digital transformation and/or cloud migration projects
  • Experience selling and/or implementing enterprise open source solutions
